Instagram now allows you to save live video broadcasts on your smartphone

One of the most amazing features on Instagram is the ability to start live broadcasts within the “Stories” panel, a functionality that is crucial to the Instagram experience.

But, live video broadcasts on Instagram are temporary like Snapchat’s photos, which means that there is no real method to save them at all. So some best feats of good fortune that are captured in a live video is forever gone and cannot be retrieved.

Starting from March 20, Instagram will allow users to save their own video broadcasts on their phone.

Instagram now supports the saver within you

“As live videos will go on to disappear from the app when you’re done, this update gives you the freedom to hold onto your video and re-watch it later, particularly if something exciting happens during your broadcast that you want to remember or share,” reported Instagram in a blog post.

Instagram live broadcasts will be temporarily available to the public, as live content will still vanish from the app when the user completes the broadcast, so there is no fear of other people attempting to track a record anything that’s happened during a live post. Only the creator of the broadcast will have the option to save the video completely, Instagram said.

How to save your Instagram live videos

To save your Instagram live video, just begin your broadcast, perform your stunts, do a show and tell, or whatever — basically go through a live video how you wish to. After the broadcast, you will see a save icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Click on it, then tap “Done,” and your whole broadcast will be saved on your phone.

Saving Instagram live videos is a part of 10.12 version of an Instagram app. The feature is available for both iOS and Android devices.
